New '07 GM GMT-900 SUVs

Here's some spy photos of the very tightly guarded GMT-900 platform. They're not such big sellers in Canada, but to the US they're key. And the pick-up equivalents are HUGE sellers on both sides of the boarder. GM has devoted huge resources on this project and put other models on hold so engineers could get this done right, faster.

Front and rear of the Tahoe, and the rear of the Escalade - sadly, no front.

And GM's not very pleased...

In all honesty, the restyle isn't as dramatic as I thought it would be, so I'm not sure why GM's so ticked. The interior is where the biggest gains should be made, so they must be pleased those haven't been leaked.

I really wonder How much can you do with the shape of a vehicle of this size and purpose. To me this is a fairly aerodynamic shape now and where do you go from here with it. The clients who buy these large sized vehicles have specific uses for them but Where do you go on Body Design from here. Glad its not my problem.

By the rather stagnant designs of most large SUV's, it doesn't appear to be the problem of the automakers, either.
