Well this is what im deciding now. Both are fully loaded both come out to the same price on the lease. Audi has free maintanance Saab does not. Drove both and enjoyed both.

Which one would you choose and why.

How could a 2 year old A4 1.8T-Q be the same lease price as a new 9-3 Aero.

Isn't the Aero MSRP about $4,300 more then the Quattro.

Without seeing the numbers, it appears the Saab is the better deal, moneywise.

The A4 is brand new?
It surprising that a MY2004 A4 would still be sitting around.

No no... the A4 would be a "lease take over".

The aero drops so much in price now after all the discounts. As an example... with $0 down 670$/month lease.... same as the audi I have in mind.

I'd take the Saab.  Audi's aren't my thing.  I'd look at a whole whack load of competitors like the BMW 3 series, Acura TL, Infiniti G35 as well.  But in this segment, you've got lots to choose from.  But between the two, it's Saab for me.

I have that exact Audi (except as a wagon) and would take it over the Saab.  Most FWD annoys me and I wanted AWD.  Also the service thing is nice.  Basically, for 4 years anything you fix on the car is free - just drop the keys at the dealer, make a :censor: list, and come back to a fixed car (I'm assuming Saab reliability is equally mediocre to Audi).  The Saab is better looking, and more unique, but just doesn't do it for me from a driving dynamics or practicality point of view.

I would take the Audi. Quattro, nicer interior IMO, very balanced and weighty to drive. It'll hold it's value better (not that you care while leasing), and you'll save enough on scheduled maintenance. Plus I think the general public thinks more highly of Audi than Saab.

The Saab looks good, and those alloys really help it out, but it just isn't as upscale to me. Plus the dealer network isn't as comprehensive. And while I thought the Aero powerplants would be a rush, the turbo lag on them irritated me when I drove 'em. I think the 1.8T lag is a little less, even if ultimately there's less power. I'm sure the 9-3 feels lighter, so if you're into hustling it you may prefer that route tho.

Crazyravr, are you located in the east or the west?  If the west, I might know an Audi for lease take-over for a bit less ...  (hmmm, I'm getting Jeff-like ideas)

Being a lease take over(save on all the upfront fees),free service, and better dealer network the A4 wins IMO.

If this car will see snow then the Audi.  The Aero will come with very wide tires to handle the turbo and they will suck in snow.  Even with sh*t tires the Audi will be great in rain and snow.

I say this assuming the car will be a manual tranny.  If auto box I'd probably go with the Saab.

Saab will beat you bad on the maintenance.  But the Audi might need tires because you never stated the mileage on the Audi.

Davidm..... Im in the GTA (Mississauga)

So far the audi looks good to me too. The owner dished out a huge downpayment (4K)and is very very picky about the car. Every little thing he sees he get the dealer to work on and fix. This would be my 2nd car used for business.

Jeez, I'm sorry I missed this thread until now.  Crazyravr, I'm in the Halton-area and have considered giving up my lease.  My commute has recently nearly doubled, so my mileage costs at the end are going to kill me.  Plus, being recently married, it wouldn't hurt to redirect some money into a little bit less costly car.

I didn't put down anywhere near that downpayment you mentioned, but having looked through what's available on Lease Busters, mine would come out at least $100/month less.

If it's of interest, send me a PM, or let me know here.

(does this constitute advertising or am I just helping out a fellow member?)  :-)

Jeff, how can it be that your Audi costs $100 less per month when the other Audi is older and had a $4000 down payment on it?

Dunno Shnak... I'm a better negotiator?  I have fewer options on mine?  Better lease rate at 2%?
