89 Dakota carries camper but not in winter
« on: July 03, 2005, 07:38:22 pm »
Hi,
Just looking for some recommendations.  I have an 89 Dakota that I use for various chores as well as camping.  The last set of tires I bought (about 5 years ago) were second hand Kmart snow tires (rear) for the rear and extra load motomaster all seasons (front).  It was recommended by my mechanic at that time.  Its time for some new ones...any suggestions?  The truck and camper are stored from about November to April every year.

If you are doing some camping and looking for a tire that can share offroad with highway duty, have a look at the Toyo Open Country AT. If you are looking  more for highway then look at the Michelin LTX M/S. Both are designed for truck/SUV applications and will offer great durability for your requirements. Most tires in the 205/75R15 sizing are designed for passanger car type applications and trucks generally are heavier and harder on tires.
