New Mazda 3 - Problems
« on: June 29, 2005, 12:36:59 pm »
I need some help with my new Mazda 3.  I just picked it up last wednesday and it now has 400km on it.
I find that sometimes when I start the car it seems to struggle to start up.  It always starts but only after quite a while.  I've made an appointment with the dealership for next tuesday but just want to know:

1. Anyone know why this would happen with a brand new car.

2. Should I be charged anything by the dealership for taking it in?

Thanks in advance for your help with this.

I'm sure the dealer will find the problem.  Get them to inspect the fuel and air filters.

By quite a while I mean about 7 seconds.  Doesn't sound like a long time but all the cars I've had started up right away.  The problem seems to come and go though.  Sometimes it starts up right away.

There are TSBs out on your vehicle for this condition.  The full TSBs can be read here:

It could be a fuel pump problem. Bring your 3 to the dealer and they should fix the problem. You may also check out some Mazda3 forums.
