94 saab 900 climate control

Anyone out there know what could be going on with the climate control on a 94 Saab 900? The system starts up runs and then will cut out after a couple of minutes only to restart after a few minutes.  When the system is working everything is great, when it goes down the "off" light comes on and nothing works.

Welcome to the forum Cartmusic.

There are under and overpressure switches as well as temperature switches all over the place on car A/c units.  If this is an automatic climate control then you also have stuff like cabin air temp sensors, sun sensors etc.

A good clue I suspect is that the system is doing a proper shutdown and turning on the "off" light.
So whatever logic is controlling the system is seeing a fault it recognizes.

Not much help I'm afraid but it may be a clue for a Saab specialist

Bring lots of cash.

If you need used parts there are a coupe of relatively low mileage 900s in Turo, Nova Scotia at a good wreckers.  Actually I have a 95 and I will give you odd ball parts if possible because the AC is LONG GONE.
