Wanted: fix for Mazda Protege pulling right
« on: June 23, 2005, 08:47:31 pm »
-pulls to the right.
-when driving dead straight, steering wheel must be turned slightly left.
-somewhat resistant when turning wheels left to any real degree.

          problem?
99 SE auto: yes
2001 ES 5spd: yes
2002 ES 5spd: no
2003 LX auto: yes
another 2003 LX auto: yes

I drove all these over a variety of roads, and over a span of about 2 years.

given that it's so common on the proteges, (in my world), the odds are low that five cars on different roads and highways all having the same problem, it would be tire pressure or so called 'road crown'. I drove the 2002 on some of the same roads, and it was straight as an arrow. The 2001 is mine, and having it aligned didn't help at all.

I'm certain this is a fixable problem and would be *extremely* grateful to anyone who can suggest a fix.

I would suspect the tires before anything else.  I am no expert, but maybe try rotating the tires and see if it pills another direction.

I, for one, would like to see a thread about a vehicle pulling to the left.  We've had a run on vehicles pulling to the right.

Too many republican cars out there.  We need a few democrats to balance things out.

If its ever so slightly to the right then its very possible that it could be the Crown of the road unless one of your tires is low on air as well.
