I have a chance to buy almost new nordfrost 3s for my Volvo V70R. I was originally planning on buying the Dunlop M3s. Most of my driving will be on dry pavement except for after a winter storm and when going skiing. I don't know how these tires compare for high speed driving on dry.

My set are on the X-Trail, and that isn't a vehicle you can push as hard as a V70R. I do know that they are super winter tires, having driven through some impressive snowfalls in the short time we've had them. On dry pavement, they work. Never had the opportunity or inclination to test their limits. Certainly, the M3 has to be a much more capable performer in the dry.

What size? How fast is high speed?

225/45/17s
On dry days traffic goes 80mph up 80East toward Park City....

These would be used just for winter season right? 80 mph would be nothing. At 45/17 they will have a strong side wall. Those tires are over built to start.

I suppose it all comes down to how sweet your deal is $$$.
