Nitto NeoGen's - Opinions Please
« on: June 14, 2005, 03:51:35 am »
Hi all, first time post.

I have a 92 Honda Civic Si 2dr Coupe and am interested in purchasing some tires. My main concern is budget. I was looking at the Nitto NeoGen's and wanted to get some opinions on them. I like the tires myself, they are a good brand name, the tires have a good rating, they have a nice aggressive unique tread pattern and the price is right.
The tires will be used in the spring, summer and fall, my main concern other than price is how do these tires perform overall and how are they in wet conditions. Also keep in mind I won't be doing much speeding cause I do only drive a Civic.

Any and all replies to this post would be much appreciated. Oh and either way whatever tires and rims I end up getting, I'm getting them from TireTrends, cause you can't beat the price, customer service and selection.

The Nitto is relatively new to TireTrends. The NeoGen is very well priced and has been doing quite well in most departments. Styling is definitely agressive and the tire is built in Japan by Toyo. If you are looking for a good tuner tire the NeoGen is a great option.

Hopefully a few more people will come along with some of their firsthand experience.

Thanks for the compliments and if we can help you know where to find us.

Hey There,
I had Nitto Neogen's on my Type R Integra.  Similar to the Parada Spec 2 characteristics.  Not as noisy though at high speed.  The Neogen grips really well in dry and the wet traction is good when it was new.  Once you go past half tread it slips drastically.  Also it gets noisy.  The ride comfort wasn't very good either because of the stiff sidewall, but that's expected with a low profile tire.  Looks definitely a A+, but unless your doing car shows, I'd go with something more uni-directional treaded.  It'll most likely be much quieter. Like a SO3 or P Zero Nero.  Highly recommend the Pzero Nero as well, amazing tire.  Good treadwear life as well.  Hope this helps.
