Stalling

I need some input from the people in the know.I have 1996 Caravan 3.3 engine runs fantastic but every once in a while the engine cuts out but is easy to restart.  It can happen on the highway but then just keeps on going , it seems like some one cut off the power but turned it right back on.  Or if you are in slow traffic you have to restart the engine.   any suggestions

regards Peter

An intermittent fuel pump problem, maybe?
Suck, squeeze, bang, blow - who wouldn't love the internal combustion engine?  ;D

Sounds like fuel pump but could be electrical.  Distributor maybe?

When was the last time the Fuel Filter was changed out on this vehicle? It also is a possibility and cheaper then a fuel pump to replace as well. If you can I would closely examine the Dist cap for any cracks as in damp weather it would cause a stalling effect also.

I wouldn't rush into replacing the fuel pump just yet.  I would say you have a computer problem or an electrical intermitent open, both which are wicked to find.

Assuming you would have told us if the check engine light came on you might want to inspect your coil packs for loose connections or your Crank position sensor is failing which is no surprise on those units.  Attempt to locate the end of it's wire connector, clean it and re-install.
