Jeep Liberty also has the exterior spare. With no cover at all. I think the Japanese wanted to emulate this tough look and make the CR-V, RAV4 and Suzuki all look a bit more "manly"

"I think the Japanese think hangin tyres on the back LOOK COOL..."

I agree.

In HK, people get the upgrade package on the last generation ML just to show the spare tire and a metal tire cover on the back instead of hanging it under the SUV.

Go figure! 90% of the HK drivers haven't, don't know how and would refuse to change a spare.
There is no reason to get an SUV in HK to start with.
Streets are narrow, gas prices are high, doesn't make sense to me but whatever.

My X-Trail has a liftgate and interior spare, and my old Sidekick of course had a right-side hinged, swing-out door with exterior spare. I don't think either design is perfect, but I kind of prefer the Suzuki design. You can change a tire without hauling your cargo out and leaving it on the road. If your arms are full, you can close the door with your knee, hip or butt. If the door swings out instead of up, it doesn't interfere with the canoe, kayak or ladder on the roof rack. The hinges on the right seem to bug some people, but they keep the door open even when the road has a high crown. IMO, the worst arrangement is the spare that hangs under the vehicle on the outside where it's hard to retrieve, even before it seizes up in the salt and sand, or falls off because the supports rust away.

Seen in the front quarter view, there is striking resemblance to the Altima. However, no mistaking that Honda look. Not bad...when is the diesel AWD wagon version coming out?

No wagon for North America

No diesel for North America

Not until all the sulphur is gone from our fuel...too bad because that Mazda 6 Wagon is a dang nice looking piece of machinery...it should turn some people from SUVs onto wagons...and the Accord Tourer sold in Europe is pretty nice looking too, as it based on what we know as the Acura TSX...

It has a boring rear end. Yet it is 100 times better than the rear of the current accord.

Unfortunately, all I see in the rear is ugly...

I much prefered the '03-'05 styling, and I am glad we got my father one before the styling changed to a grand-prix knock off...

Reggin if you had heard as much flack as Honda has the past 3 years over the current Accord arse end styling, you could understand them doing a rather substantial MMC.

I understand why Honda is doing it but I agree with Reggin. The new rear is ugly and I much prefer the 03-05 styling.

I think you will be in the minority...the bustle butt has been less than successful from a styling standpoint for Honda
