Check engine light on 1997 Acura 1.6
« on: June 06, 2005, 05:43:10 pm »
Someone in this forum advised me that removing fuse for radio in my Honda Accord would reset the Check Engine Light. It worked.

Tried the same trick on my Acura 1.6 and it did not work. Does anyone know what fuse to pull to reset the light.

I would like to reset it and only go for service / check if it comes on a 2nd time.

Thanks

OBD-II cannot be reset in this manner.  You must read the codes and correct the fault.  OBD-II lights go out on their own if the fault is not re-occuring.
No place I'd rather be...

It worked on my Accord.... I did it twice before going to tech for code reading.

So it seems it can be done.

Evidently it didn't work.  You still ended up at a tech for code reading.  The OBD-II system has a memory that is not contant power dependant and if you don't change the condition that set the code you  can't clear the codes by disconnecting the battery.

Try black electrical tape.  Works 100%
