To be honest, I think they changed it for some of the Western markets, just because "Midship Runabout" doesn't exactly sound cool?

Must have got lost in translation...

C'mon, guys, anyone looked at what the Japanese name their cars in their home nation?  Bluebird, etc.  The MR just might stand for
