Hi from SW where is been 35-38C everyday.  I saw this GC when we were in Arches NP and snapped a couple of pics of it. It has a manufacturer plate from Michigan (Arches is in Utah) plus a computer type device on the dash which made me think test model. Nice low front air dam and if you look close you can see the duel exhaust pipes out the back center. (sorry for the bad pics, I usally take great pics) I didn't notice any engine badges on the truck, just said GC and Jeep, nothing else.

How is it possible that after electricity has traveled through hundreds of miles of power line then hundreds of feet (or yards) of romex in our home, that changing the last three feet of wire with something exotic, expensive (cool looking, and packaged in a pricey box) is going to make a difference?

Yes, Quad, nice 6Wagon shot. Been to the Arches, so spectacular there. I agree, think's GC SRT8 proto in testing. Good eye to catch it. A "spy-shot" no less!!!!  |

I try to keep my eyes open for new things down here as I know they use this area for testing all the time.
The most of any car I have seen so far is a toss up between the Corvette and new Mustang but did get to see 2 Austin Healey's with tops down cruising around.
Now that I'm in Mountain View CA (San Francisco) all I see is SUVs, BMWs and Porsches. |

How is it possible that after electricity has traveled through hundreds of miles of power line then hundreds of feet (or yards) of romex in our home, that changing the last three feet of wire with something exotic, expensive (cool looking, and packaged in a pricey box) is going to make a difference?

Having a tonne of fun down here with all of the hiking and eating that we are doing. The speed limit is 75mph in most western states and you can easily drive 80 and sometimes 85 without having any trouble from the State Troopers. While crossing Utah and Nevada with the cruise set at 90mph the 6-wgn spins quietly at 2800-2900 rpm and still returned between 25-27 US-Mpg with the A/C keeping the cabin chilled under the hot desert sun so I can't complain all that much. We did get one tank of 29.5 US-Mpg but that was with a max speed of 70mph (110kph) on back highways. I don't get to check the boards as all of the places we stay have no services. So it was kind of nice to drop in on some family here in California for a hot shower and use their internet. Here is a picture of the fines for speeding in Nebraska where the speed limit is 75mph. Even after conversion its still pretty cheap compaired to Ontario.  Once we are back, its sorting through the approx 1500 pictures (took over 800 on the first week and we still have another week left) to see what goes on the website. Happy and safe driving. |

Just what we needed... another proof of America's needs for excess.
I can't wait for fuel to rise to 2-3$/L like in Europe. I seriously hope it'll hapen soon. |

Shnak i dont know why but seems u have a problem with ppl who drive SUVs...maybe u should stay away from SUVs and Big 3 threads just like u adviced Barrie to stay away from Honda threads....  |

I don't have anything against SUVs per-say... Heck, I drove a CRV for a year myself! I certainly don't have a problem with myself driving a CRV...
And it's not the size of the GC that bothers me, because it really isn't that big, smaller than a new CRV probably, it's its inefficient burning of fuel. That's what I don't like about most big SUVs and their owners. They don't care how much fuel it costs them because they can afford it. How about thinking about how low the world's fuel reserves are getting by the minute with the culture of excess of America? Why not design SUVs that don't need big V6s or V8s to move along nicely? Why the damn urge to put the gas-guzzling Hemi engine in everything that Chrysler makes? |

My gripe with JGC is the lack of rear seat and cargo space for an SUV of this size, even RX330 feels more spacious. |

Shnak getting pissed at peoples choice in vehicles will just give you ulcers...Do YOU Carpool with 4 or more daily,do you bike/walk when you can,flush yer can ONLY once per day,are you energy self sufficient and live in an R2000 house...you see where this type of CRAP is going?  ??... People in glass windowed cars shouldn't throw stones..... |

Not I don't carpool... but I only have a 4km drive to work, and I think that me driving a small diesel vehicle is a lot better than a big SUV that drinks fuel like there is no tomorrow.
So I AM allowed to throw stones to people driving SUVs "cause they're cool" and "cause I can afford the gas". They're ignorant. |

I'm no fan of SUV's either, but face it, they're here to stay. I can't think of one car company now (in North America), that does not have an SUV in their lineup. They are NOT going to go away, so I try not to loose any sleep over it. |

Everybody is to some degree, irresponsible in their consumption of natural resources. Oil, natural gas, water etc. We all heat our homes, use air conditioning, water the lawn, use the dishwasher, etc. We all live in a home that is probably bigger than it needs to be. The list is endless. The SUV attack is just one of many examples where we as a society are a 'guzzler' of natural resources. |

MDX, that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to cut back something where we can. It's the equivalent to saying "yeah, I'm fat, but I don't want to cut back on eatting chips or pop because heck I'm eating pizza so what's the point?" Well, it all adds up - quite literally in that case.
To me, I try to make a conscious attempt to limit my consumption of all of the above. Sure, I can be wasteful. Sure, we generally are in comparison to everywhere else on Earth. It's hard to avoid being wasteful in this society to be honest and it would probably take tonnes of money and effort to be green - an R2000 house (if such a thing exists) is probably exorbitantly priced for the average person and their availability is limited - nevermind the public's knowledge about them. But it doesn't mean I can't do my part where I see the opportunity.
Not looking to justify anything. Just telling you how I see it. If you're using a vehicle 95+% of the time for commuting, why do you need something so large? Just like when you make more money you spend more, people tend grow used to things like SUVs, but don't necessarily need them. I think it's worthwhile to remind people of this and be a voice of what I'd call reason, because Earth's resources are only so large and their depletion is continuing to accelerate. |
