Buying car in US and bring it to Canada
« on: May 24, 2005, 05:42:20 pm »
In last Moneysense I've read article about buying car in US and bring it to Canada. It involves paying around 1,000 fee to register a car, but generally you can get better price they than here. I've compared Toyota Corolla LE price (US : 15K US, Canada: 21,700 or so). So after 15K * 1.25 + 1,000 you end up with 2,000 dollars less when buying in US.

Did anybody try to do that, what are other risks involved with this kind of purchase.

Another attractive point in US: you can get invoice price from www.edmunds.com, here in Canada you should pay for that.

Any advice/idea/suggestion will be highly appreciated.
