Thanks Hondasalesguy.  Saw a picture of a Ridgeline with 20 inch wheels....very nice.  Funny how things change.  If someone told me ten years ago that guys would be putting 20 inch wheels on their vehicles I would have laughed at him......now, to me, they're starting to look good on some vehicles.
I looked at a 2005 Mustang GT the other day and I thought the factory 17 inch wheels looked too small!

I saw TWENTY EIGHT inch dubs on a Hummer H2 at the Detroit autoshow .
The Hummer already looks like a cartoon but those wheels looked were just plain funny , and the 35 series tire could just as soon be painted on for all the cushion they offer.

People love the huge wheels on the new cars...

Until they have to buy replacement tires that is!

Ovr….We need a vehicle that has more utility and a box. Don’t get me wrong we love the quality, reliability, and practicality of the HL…..but we need more to adjust to a move to an outdoor lifestyle. We have looked at all SUV’s and wagons and they don’t measure up to criteria we have established.

The Ridgeline has a good balance of all the things we need. A large 5 passenger interior, full time four wheel drive, multi-functional utility area, reasonable fuel consumption, quality, reliability, good towing capacity, and priced in the mid $30’s

Wiffy wanted a “fun” car for herself and wanted me to dive the family box…..I laughed for at least one hour…..she was not amused. I convinced her that she is a destination driver and nothing else. We are not fond of the looks but the functionality overshadows the styling.

We still have 10 months to go on the lease and will wait for the right deal….we have our resident automotive broker on the case right now.

Well, I would think the new Ridgeline would serve that intended purpose very well. Utility requirement is why I am driving the HL (which, incidently, I'm liking more every day)as wife wishes to keep her Solara (and, of course, I also have the Bullitt). I've seen a couple of RLs around and I'm sure Honda will be happy with their sales results on it. With 10 months yet to go on the old lease, maybe you'll be able to get one at a better price (or maybe wifey will again change her mind). I bet she was really happy when you told her she was the "desination driver" and, by implication, you were the "fun driver". Oh boy!!

Exactly HSG. I don't want to go up from 16"ers because replacement tires are ridiculous. And driving in Winter fringe months is no picnic once you get up to 17/18"ers.

I've now seen many RidgeLines. They're all over! The red ones look good, black too... silver's alright and the blue pretty nice too. I'm not a fan of the black door handles on the base silver unit, but it's not so bad.

They're goin' gangbusters I'd say!

I suspect the sailpanel/sloping bedrails are to increase body rigidity.

The "flying buttress'" on the Avalanche are structural elements necessary to limit body flex
at the junction of the cab and bed.

The old Ford Unibody pickups (1961-62) had problems with metal fatigue at the cab/bed junction.

Like I said the bedrails are that way for aerodynamics. They don't need any help with the body rigidity thing thanks to a stiff unibody design and 7 crossmembers. It is about 10 times as stiff as any body on frame truck ever built...

I see our local dealership has both a silver and a black sitting on the lot.  Might be sold, who knows.  I'll have to have a closer look.  Not that I want a pickup, but I'd like to see it.

You're right, Hondasalesguy.  I just looked at the Tirerack ad in my latest Car & Driver....the prices for high performance 20 inch radials are out of this world!
