Nokian WR for all seasons
« on: May 17, 2005, 11:39:48 pm »
I bought Nokian WR tires in December 2004. I wanted an all-season tire with good performance in snow.
After 2000km in winter Toronto, 3500km in ski-trips to Barrie and Mont-Tremblant and 2000km on dry/wet spring roads in GTA, I'm very satisfied with their performance. Much much better in snow than my old all-season Firestone FR680, big difference, excellent control on snow/slush!
I'm keeping Nokian WR through summer too, since this is supposed to be "the only all-season tire that has winter tire logo too". That's why I bought them in the first place, since I don't have space to store another set of tires. Based on my experience, I expect very good control and probably bit more wear. We'll see how good are they on +35C...
BTW, I paid $552 CAD (installation and tax included) for four 185/65/R14 tires.

I have Nokian tires on my Chrysler Concorde since 2002. Best tires for snow, slush, ice, rain, dry environments. Truly all season but a bit noisy. They now have over 90,000 km on them and still look good.

BFG All Terrain T/A KO is another all season/terrain tire that is rated for severe snow condition...but it's more suited for pickups and such.
