2004 Optra tire and alignment problems
« on: May 03, 2005, 11:21:49 am »
I have a new Optra with only 18000 km the front tires are bald and the Alignment is off. GM says it is not their fault. And claim that I have hit something. I am the only driver of the car I would know if I have hit something.

It's best to post your topic in only one area.  This makes it easier for you to follow up afterward, i.e. not having to chase down multiple threads on the same topic.

Really a tough one to pass any particular blame. The car could have come brand new with the alignment being completely out, which is not uncommon. Many times new cars come from the plant and the alignment is not correct. However, you could also have knocked the alignment out simply by hitting a large pothole. You may not even remember, but it could be something that seemed small at the moment it happened.

Difficult thing is proving who is in the right. You could fight with them over it, but you will probably end up with nothing.

What it does show is how important proper alignment is.
