2005 corolla CE vs. LE
« on: May 02, 2005, 06:11:46 pm »
I was under the impression that CE came in manual transmission only but I found today that auto is available.  MRSP = 16615

package B = A/C, power door locks, keyless entry @$2055

Price "B" 16615 + 2055 = 18670

Pkg C = A/C, power door locks, keyless entry, power windows, cruise control @ 2965

Price "C" 16615 + 2965 = 19580

LE price is MRSP $21725 comes with all of above, more cosmetics & Anti lock braking Sys.

Question:  Is there any big diff between CE & LE? Which would u prefer?

Is there any possibility of negotiating the options B or C price down and by how much?

Thanks

Mechanically they are the same.  The LE is more for the older buyer or anyone who likes "fake wood".  This is one of the best cars you can buy, good shopping.

I would buy LE simply because of ABS

The new SE package just announced looks very appealing:

Toyota Canada announces 2005 Corolla Special Edition

Looks like the SE is a good deal, it would appear that this car is a Toyota reponse to something.  The Elantra SE maybe?

I have a 05 CE 5 sp with package C.

Since I don't care for ABS, auto. fog lights and fake wood, it was the perfect choice for me.

Things the LE has that I miss are; 195 tires (had the mediocre Integrity's 185/65-15 replaced by Yokohama Avid TRZ 195-65-15 last week), bigger and padded center console armrest, tweeters in the front doors and variable intmt wipers (fixed setting on the CE).
Me Los Tabarnacos, Yeah, Yeah!

I just ordered the 05 Special Edition (manual) with cruise control add-on. Have never been a Toyota owner but am looking for fuel economy and reliability. For the last 4 years I've been inflicted with Ford/Mercury Lemonitus. I hope this is the cure.

Wow.

A friend of mine said he was going to buy an LE and I said 'why the heck would you do that? Get a CE SE instead and save a few thou' but I'd want to have ABS on my car. That's pretty odd. I guess I've grown accustomed to it and can't imagine not having it anymore.
