Honda Crx RPM problems
« on: April 05, 2005, 10:41:22 pm »
just bought a 89 honda crx si. looks mint, 163 000 miles, standard, cold air intake. the muffler is stock yet sounds very loud. anyways my problem is this. today after i locked my keys in my car, i drove it and realized that in first gear, when first accelerating, quickly, at around 3 000 rpm the car just stops, rpms drop, for about 3 seconds, then pick up again at a faster rate, the car stutters as if a beginner was driving it, i hate it, its horrible. the reason for this might be because earlier i e-braked into my parking lot and i held it too long so i over spun, then i over keyed thinking i stalled, then i accelerated with the e-brake still on, pretty dumb of me, but yea then i drove it into the parking lot, turned the car off. then i reversed it out and realised it took a bit longer for the rpm's to pick up when i pushed the gas, can anyone tell me what the hell is wrong with my rpm's?? and how can i get it fixed.

? What ?  Can you give me the simple version please?  I release the clutch in my Honda at about 1200rpm's.  Why 3000 on the CRV?  PS.  You may want to stop the brake slides for awhile.
I miss my motorcycle!

I don't see how the e-brake is connected to engine revs.  So you're saying the engine hesitates at 3000 rpm when in first, but not at any other rpm?
Suck, squeeze, bang, blow - who wouldn't love the internal combustion engine?  ;D
