Write off deal

Some of u might remember my post about buynig a 95 dodge spirit from mty sister for $3000. well since then it got rear-ended over night in a hit and run. Autopack wrote the car off, but all thats wrong with it is a tiny lil crack in the bumper that i wouldnt call a crack, the trunk got smashed pretty bad but banging it out a lil made it close again and the reflector across the trunk broke. But they decided to write it off and give her $4000 for it. Thats $1000 more then i was gona pay, and then she bought it back for $800, so she got more for it, and i get it from her for $800!!! and it only cost me $500 to bring it to safty. and about $200 of that would have had to be done anyways.

That's great. You might find a trunk from a wrecker cheap.

'95 Dodge Spirit that's been rear-ended...now I see why your handle is Mistake
Just kidding
Wheels are wheels.....pretty tough to beat for a price like that.  Maybe find a HEMI at a wrecker's too, and drop that sucker in there....

Sharky,

If someone could actually drop a Hemi into a Dodge Spirit and make it work, I'd be mighty impressed

Not to say thing like this haven't been done before.  I remember reading about a Chevette into which the 3.8L (turbo IIRC) from the Buick Grand National was dumped into it.

From what I recall of the article the thing ran like a demon in a straight line, but turning?  Not so much (The photos showed the amount of bracings and fittings that had to be added to the car's engine bay to support that sucker... Wow)

And don't forget the guy who dropped a 5.7L LS1 engine into his Fiero....added a bit of NOS, and, well, you get the idea.

Sharky

Dear god, the suspension modifications alone needed to keep the car from nose diving must have weighed as much as the car did!

But on the upside, the Fiero owner wouldn't have to worry about engine fires any more

One of our fellow Posters Capt Ron has exactly this model of car at home with the 5.7 lt engine in it. I am sure he enjoys it quite a bit.
