These were apparently taken in Newfoundland. The second photo appears to be of a Forester with a Miata behind it? I sure hope it's not a Boxster.

Looks like one of the Massachusetts pics I posted of the woman filling her birdfeeder (while her house is coated in ice).  This would have been after the big nor'easter a month ago.

Neat pictures, regardless.

I think the second pic is a Ford Escape for sure.

I have seen cars in ice like this before. I wonder if there will be ANY damage at all to the car's exterior?

Depends on how they try to remove them whether or not there will be any or much damage. A big Fire Axe and some Hot weather is needed before they go anywhere.

It's been in the plusses here for the last two weeks. I hope it stays at some temperature (colder is better in oil country) for awhile, because this up and down is killing our roads.

It's somewhere in Europe.  Unless it's St. Pierre/Miquelon.  That van looks like one of those Toyota/Mitsu/Hyundai/Nissan jobbies - unless it's a Kia Besta (remember those anyone?)

Yeah, that is a Ford Escape. That's immediately what I thought.

In any case, wow!

I was flipping thru the TO Sun today (because that's about all that paper is useful for, anyhow - wasting some time) and on the 3rd page there was a shot of a Toyota Camry's grille peeking thru a mountain of snow. Man, hard to imagine! Soon there will be avalanches there - hopefully they'll whisk away the truck of the same name while they're at it too!
AQUAMAN64 also posts on BDFD.com!

There's one more good use for the Toronto Sun. My Bird just loves the front page everyday.

When I used to work on salmon cages in the Bay of Fundy, most of the winter months were spent breaking the ice off of everything. Couldn't use axes because they would tear netting, so we used 5' steel poles. Nothing's better than the brisk feeling of 35knot wind blowing salt spray straight down your the neck of your floater suit with an ambient temp in the -20s!

Changed careers after going for a dip in late January in -0.5C water for 15-20 mins.

In case anyone is still curious, apparently the pictures were taken on the shores of Lake Geneva near Versoix, Switzerland, Friday, Jan. 28, 2005.
