Fuzion Tires
« on: February 16, 2005, 01:01:20 am »
My girlfriend is looking to buy some new summer/all season tires for her 2002 Acura TL Type S.  She does have dedicated winter tires.  She can get a great deal on the OEM tires, Michelin P215/50 R17 V rated tires but is looking at others.  The FUZION tires have been suggested to be a great tire.  Looking for opinions on these tires or others.  Obviously with dedicated winter tires being used, a straight summer tire could be used vs the all season tire.

We have had somewhat good success with the Fuzions. Very stiff bead package and sidewall. This offers great turn in and a firm ride. Perhaps we can find a few people on this forum who have had some more experience. Really depends what type of tire she wants. Is she looking for all-out performance or would she like some longevity combined with moderate performance?

Give it a little while and you should see some posts on the Fuzion and probably some other opinions...

I'd like to revive this thread in case someone has more infor to add on the Fuzion as I'm planning on buying a set of 225-45-17's for my Jetta 1.8T. Any info would be welcome. Especially on noise and longevity. Thanks.

I got the fuzion ZRi'1 for my VW GTI 1.8t (225/45/17).  They're great tires. No squeals when cornering and relatively quiet.  I don't know about longevity since I just got them but I think that depends more on how you drive (i.e. agressively).

The tires look really sexy!

I had the Bridgestone Fuzions on my car for about 1 week.  They provide very little road feel, are incredibly hard riding, but provide excellent grip for the money.

In the end I returned them under bridgestone's 30 day guarantee and got some Pole Position S-03's

I was hoping I'd be satisfied with a less expensive tire but I guess it wasn't meant to be

225/17/45's on BMW 325Ci

I had a full set of Fuzion ZR1 tires installed on my Boxster.  They replaced a set of Continentals.  I have put 6000 km on them.  Compared to the Continentals, they are much quieter (perhaps because the Conti were bald ?), and give "softer" ride.  I noticed a decided difference when cornering, they don't offer as much grip.  They are great in wet conditions.  I can't tell how well they wear.

I took them up to 200 km/hr, and they handled nicely.

I would recommend them.

I just put a set of Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S in my MB CLK320 and they're great.  They are very comfortable, quiet and offer decent grip.

I also have dedicated winter tires.

You should put this in your short list.
