Saw an early 1980s VW Rabbit Pickup truck turning onto Industrial Avenue from Riverside Drive.  Wow, when was the last time you saw one of those...?

It looked a look like this, flat black paint and all:

These were sold in N.A. with a non-turbo diesel.  Pretty slow.  There are still a couple of them in Calgary.

The Iraqi Taxis were never delivered because the Iran-Iraq war broke out...

I knew there was some little thing...

About half of the 25,000 made were delivered, the rest were rejected.   There was apparently a update/fix for the clutch eventually done in Iraq that made shifting much better.

I followed a Tesla during my commute this morning, the only one I've seen in ottawa. Nice looking motor but it looks really wide. Strangely wide.

I have seen a white one here - is that the one you saw?

I passed a pristine one on the highway back in the spring and took my time doing it while I ogled every inch.  It was red and looked to be in showroom condition.

Yesterday I saw two cars on the opposite side of the spectrum.

A yellow Lotus Evora... Very cool looking car.

I also saw a late-eighties MB S-Class in a metallic baby blue. It was in MINT condition.

With powerful enough inductive chargers at every stop these could be made to run non-stop I suppose. What kind of batteries and what capacity does this one use?

Can't quite read the driver and navigator's names on the side, can you read them from the original?
