I saw a Smart ForTwo on the 401 last night too! 2dr mid-range Pulse hardtop in Twister Green. Dang, that thing has BRIGHT lights all around. The headlights overpowered everyones, as we could see the shadow of our cars in front of us once we passed it. I still like that thing!

Leaving work yesterday there was a Peugeout 206 dr hatch parked in our building's back parking lot - with those red dip plates. A few minutes later, a 1970's first generation Scirocco passed me. Those are a rare sight nowadays... |

I saw (and ran over) the remnants of an animal collision. It was pretty bad, I would guess a semi hit the deer. Anyways, that was pretty bad. But this was worse: While driving out to pick up Riley from Grandma's, I saw a very, very large lady come out onto her deck stark naked and stretch. Yes, stretch. We're not talking about a farm, either. I have to pass White Trash Trailer Court (I think the proper name is Eldos...but whatever) on my way out of town and there she was. I don't think I will ever grace McDonald's drive thru again. |

I would definitely be washing my eyes out after that experience but don't blame Rotten Ronnie's for your visual horror as he wasen't there. He's probably too embarrassed as well. |

I often see Porsches, BMWs, Ferraris, etc, but what I saw last night was a first for me. A silver/metallic grey Mitsubishi Evolution with Washington State plates parked on Robson St in Vancouver. I was driving at the time so could only take a quick glance. My passengers (wife included) didn't recognize the cars significance. Looked pretty plain considering the performance involved. Oh ya... on Denman St a Nissan Safari (like a Toyota Landcruiser) was driving in front of me with BC plates. Not sure where it would have been imported from as I'm pretty sure they were never sold here. |

You can DRIVE it, you just can't register it with a Canadian plate. |

You can register it if you spend the $1000s on the mods required to bring it up to Canadian standards or if you wait until 2020 to register it. Vehicles 15 years and older are exempt from the rules. |

I think it is still an offence for a Cdn resident to drive a US registered car in Canada...AND YOU cant make it legal only Mitsubishi can do that |

I don't think you can either. It's black listed as un-importable. But you know what I found out while at the Auto Show talkin' to the passionate damzel at Transport Canada? There's a loopwhole where you can licence a car if used for advertising purposes. That's how some companies could use the Smart car before it was listed as importable. BUT, the permit is only useable for 1 year, and may or may not be re-granted. In the case of the Smart, people who knew it would be available imported some for their businesses because they knew the car would be certified for sale after. So... I may just start up a company and import that Audi A2 1.2L TDi I love so much Uh huh... keep dreamin', right?

Oops! My mistake. It is blacklisted. Just checked the TC list. But some of the cars marked "admissable" do require mods, which have to be done at owner's expense. (A colleague of mine brought back a Golf Cabrio he bought while posted at the UN in NYC, and had to make a number of changes...) But the 15 year rule still holds. |
