2002 Saturn Vue
« on: January 16, 2005, 11:59:10 am »
To continue on, the 2002Vue is not meant to be driven in winter on the prairies. The number of times the SUV has let us down cannot be counted on two hands. Hopefully anyone looking at a new vehicle should stay far away from the Saturn Vue unless they like visiting the dealership for great service(repeatedly) from the service dept.

Perhaps he just made a honest mistake in his multiple postings; given his post count, this is not unreasonable. Let's be a little more charitable before we hoist him on the troll cross.

Smelly, maybe keep your outrage to one thread...

I see several references to the word "Troll" in a couple of threads.  What exactly is a troll?  Just want to know so that I don't ever get accused of being one myself.
I'd rather be fishing.

Troll: A supernatural creature of Scandinavian folklore, variously portrayed as a friendly or mischievous dwarf or as a giant, that lives in caves, in the hills, or under bridges.

Powman, as long as you avoid taking up residence in caves, in the hills, or under bridges you should not be mistaken for a troll, ala Lord of the Rings.

OTOH, discussion board trolling refers to trying to elicit a strong, usually negative or angry, reaction by deliberately posting controversial or inflamatory statements. For example, "Hyundai Tuscons suck."

Kidding. I'm a kidder.

Accordingly is correct - a troll's purpose is to anger you and/or to waste your time making posts back to the troll's post. Some ppl spend their time going from forum to forum and inciting trouble. The best antidote is just ignore the troll - they thrive on attention and if they get none, they'll usually move on to more productive sites.

Trolls usually make one point decrying something, and then don't join in the following conversation, even when invited back to explain things further.

Exactly as "srtor" did with the 1 contentious post to start "NA Best for 2005?". Stirred everything up, never came back and we all wasted out time replying. Blah.

Saf, old sock, on other Forums, you'd be a troll; but on here you're a genius - go figure.

I see...the example of a troll comment (Tucson's suck) was very helpful in illustrating exactly what this means.  That is most definitely a troll comment that one should not take heed to.

Thanks so much!!

Glad to be of assistance, Powman.

Saf, thanks but no thanks - you keep on touching yous'elf!

Sparky, 1996 EX Accords may suck, but not this one. It is bullet proof...which is exactly the wrong car to have when you need an excuse to buy a new one!

My cousin had a 95 Accord EXR a while back. I was very impressed with it. He lowered it crazy low to the ground though. It was like your a$$ was sliding on the road. It ended up getting stolen while he and his girlfriend were watching a movie and was driven all the way to Quebec and then torched...kind of sad.

Anyways, I digress with my pointless story

Yes, the Accords are crime magnets.

Mine was stolen, too. Recovered with the engine still running in the underground garage of some skank apartment building in downtown TO. Got it fixed (a bit of vandalism, cig burns everywhere) and it's good as nearly new.

This was but the climax of an automotive life puncuated by four break-ins and two accidents (not my fault). My insurer loves me.

[fade out with a song]...aaaannnnd, the cat came back, the very next day...

Funny, my 1994 Ranger refuses to die, too. But no one seems willing to steal it.
