Hey!!!  Me likes!!!!!!!! - except the stupid low profile wheels.  Pimp my ride???  Regular 15 or 16" wheels are fine.

Yes, that's it - not bad at all IMO. (Good color BTW).

I drove the FWD 130hp Matrix with AT and found the engine wheezy and felt like it was missing 30 of those ponies.  I can't imagine how the AWD version feels, 7 fewer hp and more weight?  Yuck.  I'm not a power freak (have other toys to satisfy that addiction) but the Matrix feels slow.

I still wonder if the 157hp four from the Camry would fit?
No place I'd rather be...

Are Subaru's thirsty cars?  I heard they need lots of gas.
I'd rather be fishing.

I always felt the 2.5L Subie engine was a bit hard on gas; but others have said not so. The '97 OB sure was hard on gas; the '02 Impreza TS less so. Sorry, not a great answer, Powman. Others know more.

worse on gas than other cars b/c it weighs more and its AWD.

that depends on what car or engine u get.
my 2003 legacy wagon gets around 32 to 36 miles per gallon, thats on the highway,in the summertime.thats driving the speed limit above or below the limit of 110kps.in the town area it gets around 23 to 25mpg

Anyway, it is worth it for that great AWD system.

Our Forester is about 400lbs lighter than our OBW, and it shows in it's city fuel economy.  Last tank in stop and go winter driving was 11.5L/100km's, which is not even close to a Civic or Corolla, but miles from anything bigger.

Subaru originally built its reputation on being a bit quirky.  Remember the Brat and the SVX?  I suspect that Subaru intended to be a bit quirky when they jacked up the Legacy wagon, added body cladding and called it the Outback, but they ended up starting a new niche market.  Maybe with the B9 Tribeca they are trying to make themselves quirky again.  I can't think of any other reason to put such an ugly nose on a vehicle.

Move over Kia Amanti... we have a new winner in the ugly schnoz department.
