'Reflex' Wiper Blades?

I assume many of you have seen the 'Reflex' wiper blades advertised for sale at Canadian Tire.  What do you think?  Are they a good design?  Has anyone tried them?

I went to have a look at them last Sunday, but the local Crappy Tire was entirely sold out of them. So I bought the Winter Teflon ones for the wife's car instead.

How do you like the Aerofoil blades?

So like what's gonna happen to all those folks who pick up a set only to find that their wiper arms lack adaquate tension causing these to float?  That was the first thing I thought of when I saw 'em.  I use the winter blades from CT and change them out in the spring.

My friend's A/S blades are like that on his Passat wagon, and they work really well. Many European cars have that free-flexible blade design, and some domestics are getting them (G6, I think the Five Hundred).

I haven't replaced my wipers or wiper inserts on my car, and think I'll pick up a pair.

My question is, can you use those Crappy Tire ones year round? Or will they prematurely wear and/or skip the window in summer?

I put one(Reflex) on about month ago on the driver's side of our Sienna van, seems to work well-not sure if they worth all the extra $$ to early to tell.
I'm not one of those early adopters, just needed a new wiper and figured my wife desrved a premium(hopefully) product for added saftey.

I have considered them. When I saw the commercial for them, I also wondered if there would be enough tension to help them "hug" the winshield. Each windshield is different.

OEM on A4's starting in 2004.5 models (like ours - .5 is shipped after Jan 1. 04, also gets the painted bumpers and skirts).  Seem to work fine, but don't have the pushing power (down or to the side) that metal blades frames have.  Can't move any volume of snow, also don't seem to have quite as good downward pressure (scraping) ability for dirt, bugs, and other debris.

I concur.  I had high hopes for these high-tech fancy blades.  For clearing rain in the warmer months, they're pretty impressive -- especially at highway speeds.  The rest of the year, they're no better than any others.  In fact, I was might p-o'ed during our 'big' storm here just before Christmas.  Mine froze up so bad (and no amount of massaging them with my hands seemed to work) that they were virtually useless for a few days.

I only recommend the real rubber blades made by Trico and Anco for use on any bodys car.  I find the rest are made of other materials and not up to my standards of quality.

I put Canadian Tire Winter Teflon blades on early in the season.  The are the worst blades I've ever used.  They freeze up despite the rubber covering, and above 90km/h the float making them useless on the highway.

Everytime I wanted to clear the window I had to pull into the right lane and slow to 80km/h.

Then I saw the Reflex commercial... I figured I'd give them a try... they couldn't possibly be worse.

The new Reflex blades work amazing!  I quick tap frees them from ice, they work great on the highway.  They worked at 140km/h...  no floating at all.

Go and buy them... you won't regret it.

Do you happen to work for Canadian Tire, Chrism?

Is it just me, or are 'The Canadian Tire Family' the most annoying people on TV?   If I lived next to them, I would have moved out a long time ago.

"Oh... Looks like you're havin' a problem. Come with me..." [winks and points over to his garage]

UGH, I can't stand the Bob Villa-wanabe. My bro and I were just talking about this yesterday.

Drives me nuts-o, but is a conversation piece. And I can't believe they got rid of 'ole faithful Scruge for this bozo.

What will he have next?
