Topic: Driver-side door on 91 camaro

The Camaro doors are heavy doors, and maybe this is an inherent design flaw, but what kind of adjustments can I have done to my driver-side door, so it will close all the way, without having to slam it!!!  Slamming those doors cant be too good for the windows.  I mean I close it. it closes, but it doesnt close flush against the door jam all the way in, unless I slam it.  And a side note: must have been the used car guy who put that nast scented jell on my headliner. who the hell is that a--H-- kidding.  trying to put that bogus b--sh-- new "used car" smell in the vehicle.  Ill tell you whats laughable.   how many of you guys ever checked out a used car, and steam came out of it??? on a hot summer day, steam comes out of a car, and the used car guy is gonna try to bull-sh-- you and tell you rain doesnt leak into the car?  Some used cars Ive looked at, steam came out of.  My Camaro is a decent car, so Im not a disgruntled guy.  For $2400 American dollars, you cant expect a new car.  But I got my moneys worth.  The guy calls himself First Florida auto leasing.  Guess what: he doesnt lease sh__!  he is a used car dealer!!  calls himself wholesaler to the public!!   Wholesale my butt!!  The NADA book lists $2800 for a 91 Camaro.  I paid $400 under NADA price.   I got a decent deal, but I didnt pay wholesale.   Theres a glut of used cars. The new car dealers want to get rid of the fresh trades, so they give them away for next to nothing to the used car guys.   those guys all have their inside deals they do with each other.   I would have bought something for $1,000 American, but what I dont know.     Answer the door question if you can.  thanks.

The only door adjustments are the bolts at the hinges (if the door drops when opening the top hinge is loose) and the latch adjuustment at the rear of the door. (the pin on the door post can be adjusted to have the door close tight)

Check the hinges on the Drivers Door for wear, this to me sounds like a classic case of door pin wear. The upright round locking pins which are about 4" long. These pins wear out from the weight of the doors. The doors then sag and are hard to close. Around $75.00 at a Body shop to change the pins out and rebush the bearings in the door.  On the other end of the door by the lock there's a round silver part that is round, you use a allen wrench and loosen to adjust to alighn in the closing slot and retighten. Lubricate the new pins with Lubriplate after or door grease in the yellow pencil type.

Your very welcome. This is normal because of the design of the doors. Gm dealer will have the pins and ask for the oversized ones. Should be around $15.00 for the kit.
