Question, how much parts sharing actually goes on between Kia & Hyundai? I know some Kia models use Hyundai engines & platforms, but do they also transmission, body, and suspension parts as well? And if so who makes the parts, Kia or Hyundai

It is becoming more common as they become more integrated.  The mirrors on the Tucson are the same as the Sorento mirrors for example.  The Tucson, Spectra, and Elantra share the same platform (as will the new Sportage) so I'd expect a large cross-over of components.

As to who makes them, knowing the Koreans, whoever does it the most efficiently.

Looks like a lot more parts sharing involving Hyundai, Mitsubishi, and DC.

So true Sterling.  An idle control motor for an older Sonta is one and the same as the unit found on a 92 Mitsu/Talon Turbo.  1/2 the price from demented Hyundai dealer over demented Chyrsler dealer.

I thought the new Sportage is on the Santa Fe platform...
