« on: December 15, 2004, 12:41:43 am »
Hi... my 94 golf will not start. i had a problem with the fan blower switch ( it was also not working properly)so i disconnected the battery then took the switch apart and had a look at it and then put it back into the dash.
cleaned the battery terminals but now the car will not start . lights, radio and fan blower switch all working .put the car in neutral and used  a scewdriver on the starter to get it going but do not feel like doing this all the time . any answers. thanks

Check the wiring harnesses under the dash, you may have unplugged a connector or broke a wire while removing or installing the heater switch. Sounds like a simple problem like this.

Some cars have a extra small wire attached to the neg ground on your battery, verify that is hooked on as well if it has one. Recheck all the wires where you were into as it sounds like one is not hooked up correctly.
