Snows for Montana
« on: December 12, 2004, 02:46:47 am »
I have been reading this site trying to find a snow tire for my wifes Montana van. I need a tire for Southern Ontario with weekly trips to Collingwood (snowbelt area) Considering Dunlop DS-1, Nordic Wintertrac,Goodyear Ultragrips or Kumho KW 11. Pros and Cons please. She doesnt drive agressively so dry pavement high performance cornering doesnt concern me, mostly ice handling and deep snow.

Do minivans require anything special in the way of tires (e.g. light truck tires or van-specific tires as opposed to passenger car tires)?

For deep snow, I would think that the Wintertracs and Ultragrips are the way to go from that particular list.

Minivans shouldn't require anything other than normal passenger car type tires.

I would agree that the WinterTrac/Winter Slalom twins are good choices for deep snow use.
