Multi, where I have said that the 300 wasn't a fine car and a huge improvement overs its Intrepid predecessor??? As long as you don't tell me it's a luxury car, I'll agree with you that the 300 is a nice car and even though I don't like its styling personally, I wouldn't have a problem with it getting the car of the year award.

Cheating....No
I copied the list Then did some comparison to the 2005 Canadian List & started cutting vehicles out...

1 • Acura RL -NEW & like it
2 • BMW 3-series/M3 Long Term M3 Fav.
3 • Chevrolet Corvette - USA
4 • Chrysler 300/300C Hemi - BIG NA Car They'd pick it
5 • Dodge Magnum - NA style wagon HUGE
6 • Ford Mustang - Def on the list...
7 • Mazda RX-8 - Cause I like it 4 dr sports car just need to convience wifey we can get the kids easly in & out...
8 • Mercedes-Benz SLK350 - my favorite convertable...
9 • Subaru Legacy -New design AWD family car...
10 • Volvo S40 - Like it allot even over the V50 Also New design..

Then I also just looked at what I had ppicked & kept it to 1 maker per vehicle except the Magnum & 300C - these have been huge sales for them in the US.

Smainville... who pays for the ads?  ALL the car co's.  Not everybody wins.  How many Pontiacs have you seen on that list in the past decade?  And yet, open any issue and there's bound to be at least a couple of Pontiac ads -- often in very expensive parts of the publication.  Magazines need revenue -- it doesn't automatically negate any objectivity in their reporting.

I agree with most of the common choices there.  I doubt there'll be any big surprises -- there rarely are.  I will go out on a limb though and suggest that the Audi A6 will replace the 5-series this year.

MDX, the 6-series is probably over the price cap for the 10 Best List.  And they haven't been overly enamoured by it anyway calling it a BMW Camaro (over-sized for its functional interior space).

That might be a lonely limb but you are probably right on the 6 being too pricey.

I find that the 10 Best is an alright read.  I may not agree with some of their picks but I don't think they are tied to advertising revenue.  But I bet Smainville would be singing a different tune if the Xtrail won a spot there.  :-)

I could not care less MDX, the X-Trail finished 2nd at AJAC and a Nissan product won the year before. The Tucson is well priced for the package even if the list is not as complete as the X-Trail.  The joke is cars like the Focus who is on this list and Car and Driver since 2000!  I owned one and that did not make me like that car any better, it's gone and I'm still getting recall letters from Ford.

I don't like car and driver's lists as I find they are way to bias towards certain brands and are unwilling to give any credit to other deserving brands. I like H20's list and S60's lists though so i'll just echo their commments

Motoring 2004 gave the new Cobalt decent marks today. In the same vein saw a Malibu Max from the rear this morning thought it was a Toyota Avalon with a dent from a distance, also has some character lines in the side panels aka BMW..looked o.k in gold paint.Prolly rent one for a weekend just for something to do....these dark, damp, dreary days are sapping my Super-Powers!!!...either that or I'm out of RUM,BEER & WENCHES.........
THERE IS NO CURE FOR "LOTUS"......ONLY TREATMENT.....
