Night Vision by Honda to see People walking. Caddi has had that for a few years, their system goes up to 1500 feet at night. You can recognize animals and humans,tree's or even rocks on the side of the highway. |

That's true. They've just dropped their night vision system haven't they? My understanding is the Honda system, in addition to basic night vision enhancement like the Caddy system, also provides warnings to the driver of objects, especially pedestrians, that might be about to cross the vehicles path. |

Yes the images were good enough to decipher exactly what everything is even in heavy Fog on the Blackest of nights. Rather expensive option so they may have dropped it for slow sales. |

The GM version of the Night Vision was just a heads up display using an infared camera. The Honda one, like DSW says, takes it to the next level and provides some intelligence and gives audible warnings in addition to a visual display. I tried the GM version once. The display is a little small on the heads up display and I noticed myself staring at it instead of the road. It just might have been the novelty of it. I can see it being a huge benefit for driving at night in bad weather. |

Good stuff and I’m all for safety improvements in new vehicles. I just hope we don’t get too much of the turn off the brain gizmos. Hopefully the dumb dumb aids will not escalate the costs too much….or at least make them options so I can keep my costs down. |

the GM version was the first one...therefore I think GM must have something hidden in the pocket...
and come on guys implementing a couple of alerts and change the visual display is not something from another world....

I like the "head's up" displaying of information. I saw in both a '03 corvette and a Randezvous that had the speedo reflected in the windshield. Neat. But I would still turn it off. |

Some of the models have the gas tank showing your fuel level and your radio station if needed. This type of system has been around since about 1991 in the Oldsmobile's of the day. You can adjust the location of the halograms as well which is nice also as none of us sit the same way in every car. I really like haveing the speedo on the glass as my eyes never have to leave the road to know for sure. I wonder how Honda is going to read the pedestrians mind about crossing the road or not. Neat trick if it can do it. They have probably taken the GM system a notch further thats all and now are trying to claim the credit for it as well. |

Well if you have to have a Fahrt - it appears that Tagfahrt does give you more room to avoid it. Now you just have to know that this is also impossible for me to have made that up.  |
