Stud Winter Tires
« on: December 08, 2004, 12:17:25 am »
I've had my winter tires for one season now and this will be the second. Can I put studs on my winter tires if I did not do it last year. My winter tires are studdable.

Studs must be installed in the tires before they are roaded.

Morty is correct. I contemplated about getting my Kumho KW11 studded when I first bought it. The installer mentioned that they can only stud tires that has never been used. From what I've been told, used tires will have gravel or particles that will damage a tire if studs were added to.

Also, the stones/gravel/whatever simply clog the holes the studs need to go in, which makes studding impossible.
