Dunlop Graspic DS-1 vs DS-2

Sam's Club only have the outdated DS-1 and lots of them.Price is right though,$80 for 195/60/15. before tax and installation.
Other shops want 110$ for the DS-2.
According to the no good Dunlop website, the compound is silica-glassin either ds-1 or ds-2,only the tread pattern is different.
4x30x115%=138$
Is the tread pattern diff worst 138$???????

For my 14 yrs Volvo 740,bought the DS-1 from Sam's club 190/60/15(430$ and change all-in),saved the 130$ instead of buying the newer DS-2.Will report later if they are good in snow and ice.Wife said they a re no different in dry.She does not drive highways and commute 5 km s each way daily only.Kills the battery in Mercedes yrly.
