SOS Morty - TT has shipped wrong rim!
« on: December 05, 2004, 05:26:46 pm »
Hi Morty

I ordered a winter tire package and everything has arrived middle of this week.  First of all, kudos for the great packaging!  However, when I finally got the chance to install them on my car today, I noticed one of the alloy rims have the wrong offset (20 vs 47), despite it is the right rim model.  The other 3 rim appear to be of the correct offset.

What should I do?  Do I ship this rim (with tire still mounted) back to you via Purolator? Please advise ASAP!  I was hoping to put on the snows today... but looks like it's going to be delayed. We are getting freezing rain in TO tomorrow :-(

Call us on the Toll Free and we will get you fixed up right away. It is obviously our mistake, so we will get a replacement sent out on Monday and make arrangements to get the incorrect one back. Call us 1-877-920-TIRE(8473) and we will get it handled for you. We open at 8AM PST (11AM CST).

Sorry for the headache!

Morty,

I spoke with Arch last Monday with regard to my situation.  As per his suggestion, I shipped the wrong rim (with snow tire still mounted) back to TireTrends through Purolator that evening, so that the same tire would be mounted on the correct rim and shipped to me.  According to Purolator's website, the tire was delivered to TireTrends on the next day.

I emailed Arch on Friday to follow up but have not heard back.  I don't mean to rush, but I'm hoping to get a response about the status.  If I can just get the Purolator tracking number so that I can watch out for it in the email, that would be greatly appreciated.  Can you possibly follow up for me?  I emailed Arch using the generic email address, but I put Attn to Arch in the subject line...

Thanks

Ck2y...not ignoring you just did not have a chance to look at the posts last night. My internet connection at home has been down for a couple of days. I actually asked about this today as I saw your wheel sitting there waiting for the tire. The shipping department hasnt received the tire yet. Did you ship it via air? That is the only way we would receive it the next day. Do you have a tracking number? If so email it to my mkoch@tiretrends.com account and cc a copy to mort@tiretrends.com (home office). We will check into this right away. Normally via ground it only takes 4 to 5 business days. Either way it is overdue. We will get on this right away in the morning. I have also emailed Arch and Gord to find out where the tire and wheel are and will get them to call you.

Morty, thanks for your assistance.  I shipped via ground insured as per Arch's request.  Emailing you the details now...

Thanks again!

I just checked Purolator's website again.  Apparently they have just updated the status today, and there appears to be a "delay" of some sort.  Anyway, sending you email right away.
