Does the extra ground clearance SUV's and pick ups offer count for nothing?

The Okanagan Valley had another very small dribbling of snow the other night, maybe 1/4"; just enough to make driving slippery going in the AM, but all gone by the PM. So, other than shaded spots, no snow here to play with. Forecast is maybe a bit more by Saturday but no big dumps projected. The mountain passes are plenty snowy tho.

Sudbury has received 8 cm so far this year. Not much left as a recent some rain melted most of it. It was fun when the temp dropped to -10 overnight and made for an interesting drive in the morning.

We had 30cm in mid October but it's all gone now.  November was warmer than normal...above freezing every day, I think.  The end is near though!

Nothing here.  We haven't gotten a lot of snow this season.  But it can change in a hurry.

No snow here, either...and I'm in the north! I went out in a t-shirt this morning to grab my purse out of my truck and didn't even get chilly! There's a reason I'm living in northern Alberta, and this isn't it! Give me some snow, dammit!

I'm getting acquainted to the winter with my X-Trail AWD, I find it interesting how the vehicule will not spin for nothing.  The ABS system is also new to me and I like this already.  On the other hand I can see why some people get into trouble because maybe they get too cocky with these vehicles.

You can spin a 4wd vehicle...you just have to try harder.  :-)

I'm sure Snowy, James, and Jeff will be more than happy to show you how.

It's simple really, turn corner and lift the throttle, then as your sliding hit the accelerated too hard voila SPINNY.  But since my car has no power it just goes straight.

I've spun my MDX a few times in the parking lots just for myself to know what the limits are.  It does take some effort but it can be done.  Just don't do it when there's only a skiff of snow on the ground.  Too risky.
