Welcome Racechaser to the Forum. I would suggest calling your local service manager at the local GM dealership or even going to the library for assisstance. You can also obtain a service manuel such as Mitchell or even one from the dealership.

A code 15 on this engine means the Coolant Temperate Sensor has tripped and the 45 means the Oxygen Sensor has also tripped. The engine is not running Hot enough because the oxygen sensor has gone bad on you I suspect. You can get the codes for most vehicles from www.autorepair.about.com under trouble shooting.

Sounds like a bad temp sensor let go too long. How long has the SES light been on? Temp sensors on GM 4 cylinder engine were common problem, but cheap fix. Check the connector on the sensor for corrosion as well.
