Welcome Angelina.

Unfortunately, I don't know about the Riley One Point Five.  In fact, I don't even know what it is!

Others will chime in within the next 12 hours to offer their assistance.

I see from your profile that your 2nd vehicle is a K-car.  What year, etc.?

MG motor? 426 Hemi? 429 SCJ? What kind of budget are we talking, with enough money we could be talking about 16 cylinders here. No but seriously you're best to look for an original replacement engine for it. You may have to look as far as Britain for a new replacement engine but if it was as common as that article implied you may still be able to obtain one.

Watched a little Riley race car from the 50's beat up the big iron at the Goodwood Event on Speed Chanel Sunday, and in another event a tiny red Austin A35 smoked the Jaguars.Even saw TIFF of 5th Gear fame squeak out a 3rd in a Lister Jaguar in a thrilling dice with expensive BIG OLD
60's racing iron...worth watching guys....

If the original Riley engine can not be found then I would look for a older GM 2.5 which is the design called the Iron Duke. Being an inline 4 it would fit in very nicely and also be a very strong runner. Even some of the older Jeeps have them under the Hood. Very easy to find and extremely durable.

Any B series would most likely fit easily.  MGB would be the most likely place to find one.,,an early 70's 1.8 would be just right
Any BMC A series will fit exactly as well    from:
Morris minors, A-H sprites MG Midgets etc. I am sure that the 1275cc Midget engine at the end of run would be the easiest to find.
A triumph spitfire engine could be persuaded in there as well.

I am not sure that any cross flow engine would fit as the originals are all Exhaust and inlet on the same side ( passenger side in Canada)

In the UK you could probably get an B series for a dollar....here I'd get a copy of Hemmings.

Either engine is awesomely simple..... fill it with 20w-50 and hang an SU carb on the isde and you'll get 50 genuine british horsepower.
