does anyone know if oil catch cans are important enough to spend the money on them? If they actually help your engine that much?

whats an oil catch can? i never heard of it before.
if your engine is leaking oil, you will need a new oil pan gasket. catching old oil wouldnt help much except keep the driveway cleaner

i think its all full of BS just like the 'increase your gas milage/HP by using our product'
i think your better off saving the money since cars today are relatively reliable if you dont neglect them and installing an 'oil catch can' can kill the engine or atleast have the potential to shorten its life

I get the feeling that from reading the purpose of this Catch Can it is almost like another Oil Filter in effect. If it does keep the layer of yuck from forming in the engine then I can see a good purpose for it. Over the years I have lifted centre heads and seen the Oil Galleys full of sludge to the top.

Catch cans are common on track cars. Here's a link:

Not sure what that has to do with the turbo thingy you linked to, though.

I used them on my AWD Talons to keep the intercoolers clean except I purchased $2.00 gas filters from CT and installed them inline between the head and the intake. Same Idea, just no show.
