How can I Flush out my oil
« on: November 18, 2004, 02:36:26 pm »
I heard I can Flush out the oil on my truck with Diesel, because the oil is clump up in motor.. have you ever heard of this. I haven't and just want to see if this can be done... I was told the Diesel fluid will losen the oil and let it flow out better. My truck is Silverado 2001 1500 ext cab. I need some help and tips on doing this..

I would use a professional product.

Go here:

http://yotarepair.com/Sludge_Zone.html

Buy a bunch of oil filters.  If the motor is bad like the one I tackled (350), you might want to change filters a few times throughout the flush.

Jreis Welcome to the Forum and I agree with Artic's suggestion as the Diesel Fuel will not really help that much.

So or saying to just flush it with oil a few times. or how many times should I flush it... my truck doesn't have 100,000 miles yet. I just want the best for the truck...I sent it to a Auto repair shop and they flush it 2 times already. should i kept doing it.... like 1 or 2 times a week. at lease or what do u think. and they also told me that the (engine oil level sensor light) won't go away until I can order one from the dealer. do u no where I can find one. besides going to the dealer. ( I just hate the dealership)

I would try the wreckers or one of your local parts stores such as Canadian Tire or a different dealer.

Huummm...If the truck was driven  on a farm at 30kmh all it's life than an oil flush would be in order.  You say you have already done the flush so add new oil and be done with it. Use quality stuff like synthetic.  It won't harm anything to flush it once a year but 3 or 4 times a year would be extreem overkill.  Your truck has an oil level sensor?  Do you mean oil pressure light?  Call a few other auto parts suppliers and compare prices.

I'm sure your truck will last a long time if you change the oil on a regular basis and don't beat on it too much.  Most GM V8's trudge along just fine.
I miss my motorcycle!
