?Does anyone have any suggestions on installing a remote starter on my 2004 Suburban 1500?  Should a dealer do this work or some aftermarket retailer?

If you have never done this type of work then I would let a pro do the labour. This way if there's a problem you have some recourse to go to. One small mistake and you could do a lot of harm to the wiring in your truck. Welcome to the Forum as well

I would have a professional install it.  I would ensure that they properly bypass the security system rather than tape a key close to the ignition.
