Okay, I have zero knowledge.  My nissan X-Terra lease is coming to an end, so recently I recieved a letter instructing me to make an appointment with the dealer if I am  returning the vehicle; Which I am planning to do, therefore, any advices or any kind of knowledge on lease end process would be much appreciated!

many thx!

Hey,

Had a Subaru end lease and can tell you my experiences from that.

Make the appointment. If possible, do it so that you can make the appointment without having to travel through the rush hours. Why stress yourself any more?

Wash the car and clean inside the best you can to make it presentable.

You should have received a paper template showing what is acceptable in terms of scratches and dents.

If there are any deficiencies (like excess scratches) with the car, get written estimates prior to the appointment. That way, you have proof on how much things cost in case they try to bilk your security deposit.

Review your lease papers to see what money is to be returned to you (often security deposit, and extended warranty if no claims).

They were pretty light with me. They only had an issue with stone chips on the hood. Other scratches inside and out were considered wear and tear. They didn't drive it at all. Just turned it on and listened to the engine. Mind you I had low mileage (less than 75% of allowance), so I think they were pretty happy before they even started to inspect.

All in all, it was a lot less painful than I thought it would be.

Good luck.

Hi,

I work in sales in the auto industry and can get deals on almost any car.  If you want, send me an email and we can discuss this in further detail.

Thanks
