Windshield haze/fog/film

I would rule out the fluid in the washer fluid tank first.  Check it again to be sure.  If it is regular fluid then it won't be causing the problem.  It is possible that one of the methods you have used to clean the glass has actually made it worse.  I know glass is tough and can stand up to lots but you never know.  Is it the orig. windshield?  Have you tried a glass shop?  I use the yellow Rain=x product without any worries.  If you think you may be getting this film off the road put a piece of duct tape somewhere up high and drive your route for a few days.  Pull the tape and compare the glass.  AutoCSI.

Hmm, interesting thread.  Is it generally accepted that the Teflon washer fluids cause haze/film on the windshield?

On RainX, do people do the hand application or do they use the RainX windshield washer fluid?

On the RainX, I've done both the hand application and the washer fluid, although not at the same time.  I found that with the hand application took me quite some time to get it properly buffed so there were no hazy spots.  With the washer fluid it seems to work just as well and it didn't require all the elbow grease.

I used those teflon washer fluids before and I do agree that they cause filming.  It was annoying!
