Yaris had a poor month comparatively speaking. I don't think Accent has ever oursold Echo/Yaris until this month.

I suspect that this will change when the Yaris sedan goes on sale. While I am a devout hatch/wagon type, the sedan will always outsell the hatch in North America I believe.  ::)

It's true that GM's new launches like G6, Impala, Cobalt, Allure, Lucerne, Tahoe are performing very well in the market.

Nice to see VW up double digits for the month and year in both Canada and the US  :D

The local VW dealer is spitting out Jettas like crazy. I see more and more all the time. The new GTI will help to draw more people in. That Cute Ute can’t come fast enough.

I think the new Yaris Sedan's pretty good looking and will help sell lots more units too.

Jetta sales were once again higher than Accord, Camry, Altima, etc. Impala outsold it by some 4 units, and G6 only slightly more.

Unfortunately, GTI volume is so restricted, so a draw will be about all it will be. And agreed, the ute and redesigned Golf can't come fast enough.

There was a snippet of good news for Ford in the U.S. market. Sales of the new Ford Fusion and Five Hundred passenger cars eclipsed those of the Taurus -- the car they replaced. Should read combined sales of Fusion and Five Hundred.

 2005 7,524

GM revises '05 loss $2 billion higher
The automaker says actual losses were $10.6 billion; company also says it will delay its annual report due to an accounting error.
March 16, 2006: 7:27 PM EST

DETROIT (Reuters) - General Motors Corp. on Thursday revised its loss for 2005 to $10.6 billion, $2 billion more than initially reported, due to charges associated with its restructuring, the bankruptcy of its former subsidiary Delphi Corp. and its finance arm GMAC.

The company said in a statement that on a per-share basis its 2005 loss had been $18.69 when fully accounting for those charges, up from a previously reported per-share loss of $15.13.

GM (Research) also said that it would delay filing its annual report with securities regulators because it had mistakenly accounted for cash flows from a mortgage subsidiary of GMAC called ResCap.

The company said that accounting problem would not change its reported net income or the presentation of its balance sheet.

I was watching Jean Cretin (sic) in the House talking about the scandal and the amounts of money involved, and he said...

"A billion here, a billion dere, what's the difference?"

Maybe GM is taking that approach?
No place I'd rather be...

With all the questions posed on the forum, would be super useful to have a Cdn equivalent of this...
