From a pretty much fully loaded luxury truck to a pretty much fully loaded sedan — this week I’m behind the wheel of the all new 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan. My tester is the standard 3.8L V6 model with HRAC all-wheel drive and equipped with the Technology trim package.

The Genesis comes pretty well equipped in standard form but the Technology package (one shy of the Ultimate with the 5.0L V8) stuffs this sedan with enough technology and features that there is no denying that this Hyundai can compete with the big players in the luxury sedan market.

What’s included in my tester? you may ask, that is a good question. If I was being super lazy I would just say “everything.” But I’ll be less lazy and give you a list of features that are interesting and stand out, you can see the full list easily on Hyundai Canada’s website.

On the inside we have items like: an 8.0-inch Navigation System with 4.5 GB of Storage, leather seating, keyless entry, 14 speaker Lexicon surround sound, heated rear seats, heated and ventilated front seats, something Hyundai calls Open Pore Natural Wood with Geometric Pattern — which looks utterly fantastic and much more.

Safety items include: blind spot detection, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control with stop & go capability and a bunch more.

I drive a lot of cars and it takes a very nice car to offer a very positive first impression and the Hyundai Genesis at first glance is impressive, let’s see if it is capable of keeping my attention for the full week.
