Porsche has given us a first peek of their Boxster GTS in video, and it sounds glorious
Porsche is wasting no time getting the word out about their new Boxster and Cayman GTS models. The two cars, expected to be shown to the public at next month’s New York International Auto Show, will arrive with modest bumps in output over S models while benefiting from lots of other go-fast goodies.
Yesterday, the “Haus that Ferdinand Built”, posted a video of the new Boxster GTS carving up roads in an indescript desert valley. The scenery might not be much to look at, but the sound from the up-tuned flat-six is absolutely spot on.
The video arrives just a few days after Automotive News reported the next generation Cayman and Boxster will be losing two cylinders as Porsche pushes for better fuel economy. The cars will receive flat-four engines based on the current flat-six. The last four-cylinder engine offered by Porsche was in the 1990s.
The new engine is to be able to produce “up to 395 horsepower,” said Porsche CEO Matthias Muller.
