New compact crossover to take on Honda HR-V

Toyota is not about to be left in Honda’s dust. The larger of the two Japanese automakers is planning to reveal a new compact crossover next month at the Paris Motor Show.

The concept, named CH-R, is expected to compete against the new Honda HR-V in the fast-growing compact crossover segment. Toyota’s compact is rumoured to be based on the same platform as the Corolla.

While few details were revealed in Toyota Europe’s release, the C-HR will be motivated by a hybrid powertrain.

Toyota will also reveal their production-ready fuel cell vehicle for the European market alongside the C-HR in Paris.
