Mazda looks to jump in on the cute-ute game next month
While its widely accepted the next-generation Mazda2 will make its North American debut in Los Angeles next month, the subcompact hatchback may have to share the stand with a new sibling.
Underpinned by the same platform as the Mazda2, the CX-3 is expected to compete with the forthcoming Honda HR-V and Toyota C-HR and be powered by the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder SkyActiv engine as its subcompact brethren. It will also be available with manual and automatic transmissions.
Motoring says the new CX-3 is likely to be front-wheel drive only.
