Australian media leaks output number for base model engine
Mazda will again trot out its little roadster that could, along with full weight and output specs, next month at the Paris Motor Show.
While already shown in California, Tokyo, and Barcelona, Mazda kept mum on what was under the hood and how much power would go to the rear wheels. Other details, such as the availability of a power retractable hardtop and other equipment, were not released either.
However, according to Motoring.com.au, the base engine will be a 1.5-litre SkyActiv four-cylinder with 96kW — or 129 hp.
Chances are we won’t get this small, base engine here in Canada. Instead, expect a 2.0-litre SkyActiv – possibly the same as the base model Mazda 3 – to make it across to North America.
